The MER has been charged with the responsibility to perform all functions assigned to it in terms of the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator Act, (Act No. 2 of 2017).
The MER in compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (Act No. 1 of 1999), as amended (PFMA) in particular the provisions as contained in sections 50 and 51, thereof, is committed to the principles of openness, integrity, and accountability. Furthermore, the MER adheres to the principles of good governance, as reflected in the King IV Report on Governance for South Africa 2016 (King IV Report).
